Vice President Defense
Lead Nordic defense growth as Akkodis Nordics VP Defense: shape strategic partnerships, translate tech into defense value, and drive cross-border opportunities with regional teams.
Akkodis Nordics is expanding its defense activities across the region at a time of increased investment and rapid transformation. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how Akkodis engages with major defense programs, industrial cooperation initiatives, and strategic partnerships across the Nordics.
Akkodis Nordics operates through multiple specialized companies, each with its own sales organization. This is the only Nordic-level commercial role dedicated to defense, with a mandate to connect capabilities, drive cross-border opportunities, and build a cohesive defense growth agenda across all entities.
The Vice President Defense will be a member of the Nordic Management Team and report directly to the SVP Akkodis Nordics.
This is a commercial and strategic role with responsibility for results, without direct P&L ownership or line management.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development
Identify and develop new defense opportunities across the Nordic region.
Build and maintain relationships with defense ministries, armed forces, procurement authorities, and major defense primes.
Shape opportunities related to defense modernization programs, industrial cooperation, and offset initiatives.
Position Akkodis capabilities within areas such as embedded systems, rugged edge computing, AI at the edge, simulation, and secure communications.
Market Positioning
Act as a senior representative for Akkodis in the Nordic defense ecosystem.
Represent Akkodis in industry forums, defense conferences, and strategic partner engagements.
Translate emerging military technology trends into concrete business opportunities.
Program Shaping and Capture
Support and actively contribute to strategic bids and major opportunities, together with bid management teams.
Work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, R&D, legal, marketing, and communications teams across the Nordics.
Help structure partnerships with international defense companies and technology providers.
Global Collaboration
Actively collaborate with Akkodis’ global defense organization.
Connect Nordic opportunities with global Akkodis capabilities and customers.
Leverage international programs and partnerships to build Nordic growth.
Qualifications and Experience
Required Experience
Senior experience within the defense sector, either from:
Armed forces.
Defense industry.
Defense-related technology companies.
Strong understanding of military procurement processes and defense program structures.
Established network and relationships with senior defense decision makers and international defense companies.
Experience working with complex technology offerings within defense.
Commercial mindset with a strong track record in strategic sales or business development.
Experience working across international and cross-functional environments.
Technical Understanding (Preferred)
Experience or familiarity with areas such as:
Tactical communication systems and military networks.
Command-and-control architectures.
Simulation and training systems.
Embedded systems and rugged computing.
AI, autonomy, and edge computing in defense applications.
